                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS NEAR ENGEL
                   STADIUM, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN,
                   ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 1993, FROM 4:30
                   P.M. TO 6:00 P.M. FOR "THE ROCKY ROAD RACE"
                   SPONSORED BY THE CHATTANOOGA LOOKOUTS, UNDER
                   CERTAIN CONDITIONS DESCRIBED HEREIN.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of the southbound lane of O'Neal Street from 
3rd
       Street to Oak Street, Oak Street from O'Neal Street to Central
       Avenue, the southbound curb lane of Central Avenue from Oak 
Street
       to McCallie Avenue, the north curb lane of McCallie Avenue from
       Central Avenue to Georgia Avenue, the parking lane of northbound
       Georgia Avenue between McCallie Avenue and Oak Street, the
       eastbound lane of Oak Street from Georgia Avenue to Houston
       Street, the east curb lane of Houston Street from Oak Street to
       4th Street, the south curb lane of 4th Street from Houston Street 

       to Mabel Street, the southbound lane of Mabel Street from 4th
       Street to Douglas Street, the eastbound lane of 5th Street from
       Douglas Street to Palmetto Street, the southbound lane of 
Palmetto
       Street from 5th Street to Oak Street, the eastbound lane of Oak
       Street from Palmetto Street to Central Avenue on Saturday,
       September 4, 1993 from 4:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. for the 
presentation
       of "The Rocky Road Race" under the sponsorship of the Chattanooga 

       Lookouts.  The sponsors are responsible for the installation of
       all traffic control devices (such as traffic cones, flasher
       barricades, and warning signs) in accordance with the traffic
       control plan attached hereto and shall provide, at all times, an
       access lane for emergency vehicles and residents' vehicles.
